Reuse and Recycle! I bet you have a number of organizing products/tools right in your home and don't even know it. Today I'm going to share 14 ideas you can use.
Milk Jugs/Containers -Cut off the tops and they become great containers for many rooms: utility, bathrooms, toy rooms, etc.
Vases - Vases can become decorative pen holders.
Nails - Hammer them a bit slanted into the wall and they become great tools for hanging belts, ties, scarves, etc.
Ziploc baggies - The baggies come in a variety of sizes from tiny snack bags to huge blanket storage sized. Smaller ones are great for storing small cables and plugs for ipods, phones, head phones etc. with a label on the outside. They can then be stored in a drawer or decorative box.
Glasses cases - No longer need that case for your glasses? Use it as a pencil case instead! They can also be a good travel jewelry case.
Oval Shaped Pencil Cases - School year over? These cases make great cord carriers for power cords for laptop computers.
Shoeboxes - You can use shoeboxes to store photos and divide groups of photos with colored index cards.
Cork Board - Take some extra material that matches your decor and cover cork board. Put push pins in the board and hang your jewelry.
Used Clothing - Old cut up t-shirts, flannels, old diapers for cleaning while organizing.
Cookie Tins - Cleaned out with the labels removed, the tins are great storage for small items (pens, pencils, business cards, tea bags, etc.) and fit great into an industrial decor.
Empty Medication Containers - Pill containers are are great for small craft items (buttons, sequins, beads, etc. or office items such as paper clips, push pins, super glue tubes etc.) I even use one to hold loose change in my purse.
Lids to Large Food Containers - Run the lids of peanut butter, mayo or other foods that come in a jar. They are great in shallow drawers to sort small items like paper clips, rubber bands, stamps or loose change.
Plastic Ice Cream Buckets - Legos and other toys are stored very easily in cleaned out ice cream tubs. The lids go on and off easily and many even have handles for easy carrying. Use a sharpie marker to identify what is inside or tape a picture to the outside to show you what is in the container.
Plastic Jars from Dole Fruit - You can buy fruit in plastic "jars" from Dole. Remove the label and clean it out (cleans easily in the dishwasher.) The containers work great in the craft room. They can hold larger objects like craft sticks, crayons and other items that come in paper boxes that tend to fall apart over time. You can use the same process with Peanut Butter Jars too!
