Does the thought of organizing make you want to scream? Do you procrastinate when it comes to getting organized because you feel it is too overwhelming?
Organizing does not have to be a chore there are ways to make it into something fun that you and your family actually might enjoy!
- Don't try to tackle all organizing on your own! Get everyone in your home to be involved. Assign each family member a task and decide on a time frame for completing. When all tasks are done you can celebrate your accomplishments together.
- One of the simplest way to make organizing fun is to put on your favorite music. Select a few upbeat songs that the whole family will enjoy, pick an area you want to organize and begin. The music keeps your mood up and your body wanting to move.
- Use rewards to help get tasks done. Pick a reward that is something you and your family enjoy doing or something you all really want. You can also pick something special for each family member. When a task gets completed select a new reward to work towards.
- Get the children involved in organized by playing beat the clock. Set a timer for 30 seconds and see who in the family can pick up the most items and put them where they belong. Repeat and keep score. The winner can get a reward.
- Do something fun while organizing, for instance you can watch your favorite TV show while sorting through your paperwork.
Happy Organizing!
